We asked Jason a few questions about how he got started and what helped him build his business. Jason explains “It’s still a work in progress. We are a small, family owned business that started with a couple of portables and a mop bucket. We were as entry level as you could get.”
As business began to pick up, the family continued to put money back into the company. Eventually they were able to purchase their first truck mount, which allowed them to move into carpet, tile, and upholstery cleaning. They dug deep and borrowed cash to make the purchase, and then had multiple problems with breakdowns and repairs.
“It was an older truck mount and was kind of beat up. It drove me to the gates of insanity” Jason said, “At the time it was funny, we offered a superior service but were kind of stuck. That truck mount was slowing down our growth. I’ve kept the machine around so that I can look at it anytime I want to feel grateful.”
A few years ago Robinson Custom Cleaning bought a new Dodge ProMaster and truck mount which they financed through Aztec Financial. “I knew what I wanted; it was just a matter of having the help to get there. I liked that it wouldn’t be on my personal credit. I was looking to buy a home at the time, and that freed things up so I could do both.” Jason explained, “I invested in the equipment. Now I have two vans and equipment financed through Aztec, but they pay for themselves. I wouldn’t even be where I am if it weren’t for Aztec Financial.”
We asked Jason what advice he would offer to other growing businesses. His suggestion is to always reinvest in your equipment. “When we got these things financed, we gained a sense of stability and dependability. It removed the worries and was a real win-win.”
Everything is going great for Jason and his family and we look forward to seeing his business continue to grow and expand. If you’re in Denver, Colorado be sure to look up Robinson Custom Cleaning. He has some fantastic business advice and will do an amazing job on your carpets!
